We are eight months into the Capital Campaign and have raised over half of our original goal. The new Welcome center was completed in December and the Surgery Center is tentatively scheduled to be open to the public in November. This is a huge accomplishment and fulfills the life long dream of Barb Umlauf, to have an onsite Spay/Neuter Clinic. We intend to open the clinic to the public one to two days a week and then expand to more days. It is a work in progress, as you can imagine.
The Shelter still has a way to go, as we still need to replace 38 kennels, as well as the cat room floor, windows, doors, and ceiling fans, and also renovate the Julian Building. Inflation has driven the cost of everything way up so materials have been much more expensive than initially anticipated, but we will keep trying to complete the renovations as long as the public continues to come through for us.
Your donations and support have been nothing short of amazing, so thank you for helping us make the shelter a warmer, safer, brighter, more up-to-date facility. We could not do it without all of our amazing supporters. We wanted to update everyone on our progress thus far and thank you for your heartwarming and amazing response.
Your support for the last 38 years of the Hillside SPCA is the reason the doors are still open. From the bottom of our hearts and paws, thank you, for always being there for us in our time of need. The Hillside SPCA supporters are truly amazing!
