🐾Position Details

Hillside SPCA is offering both part-time and full-time positions for animal caregivers. If you can spare a few days or are seeking a full-time commitment, we would love to hear from you.

Part-Time Pay: $11 per hour

Full-Time Pay: $12 per hour

As an animal caregiver, you will be responsible for providing daily care for the shelter’s animals, including feeding, cleaning, and socializing and exercising them. You’ll play a vital role in helping us maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for all the shelter residents.

🐾Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as an animal caregiver will include but are not limited to:

Feeding animals according to dietary needs

Cleaning and maintaining animal living areas

Providing social interaction and enrichment activities

Monitoring the health and emotional well-being of the animals

Assisting with intake and adoption processes

Reporting any health issues to veterinary staff

🐾Qualifications

While experience in animal care is a plus, it is not strictly necessary. We value dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to learn. The ideal candidate should possess:

A genuine love and respect for animals

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Physical ability to handle the demands of the job (lifting of 50lbs, cleaning, capability of handling large rambunctious dogs for daily walks, etc.)

Flexibility to work one weekend day per week
